The twin paradox: part one

Created by Albert Einstein, this is what relatively can do to you. With all the other craziness in this post, Lets first begin with what this even is. Enjoy!

Takeoff!: Stella and Summer are twins. On their twentieth birthday, they are going to leave one another. Stella is going to travel 86.6% the speed of light, traveling to a star that's 10 light-years away. Once she has arrived she will come back at the same speed.

Wondering: Since a light-year is the speed that light can travel in a year, Stellas journey will be 23 years. Who would be older? Is this even possible? Will Stella be younger?

Getting the facts straight: These two twins are smart, so they know its not that simple. First, something that is moving makes time go slower, than on a still object, like earth.

the Lorenz factor: The last paragrphs infomation is called the Lorenz factor. Secondly, someone looking at that rocket will see will contract at the same factor. If you don't know what that means, do some reserach, it may surprise you.

Math attack: if Stella is traveling at 86.6% of ligth, the Lorenz factor is 2. Meaning time will pass half as slowly on the space trip, making stella age slower. However, Stella will not sense time going slower.

Twin fight: The two twins disagree with each other, Stella says that it's like her space ship is still, while the universe moves around her. This would mean that both of them would be older than the other, but thats not possible. So who's right?
