Comet NEOWISE: Make way!

NEOWISE. Its honor to see a delightful and memorizing comet. Lets do some stargazing and enjoy the time we have. Crash down to earth and zoom in!

If you are an early bird and have gotten up before sunrise to gaze into the twilight skies you will be greeted by the best comet performance for Northern Hemisphere observers since the 1997 appearance of Comet Hale-Bopp. Of course, NEOWISE, emphatically ended the nearly quarter-century lack of spectacular comets.

Even before NEOWISE arrived at perihelion ( Its closets moment near the sun) observers could glimpse it very low to the northeast horizon, immersed deep in bright twilight, just before sunrise on July 1.

Until now, the comet has been accessible only to those waking up at the break of dawn and scanning the sky near the northeast horizon. The comet has appeared to rise tail-first, followed by its bright head or coma, shining as bright as a first-magnitude star.

So far, the comet has had to compete with low altitude, bright twilight and the light of a nearly-full moon. Some have been stopped from getting a good look at NEOWISE because of these factors, or perhaps because of poor weather. But things are going to be getting better for sky watchers in the days ahead.

This is the best I could get. Tell me in the comments if you saw NEOWISE, or your a night owl. Maybe it will come in a little later in the day, so others can see it.

Hey Abg7, Its good to read your article as this summer has been kind of boring mostly staying at home and not going out much. Please do keep on writing more articles

Hi,

I tried to catch a glimpse of the comet but I wasn't able to, well hopefully on my next attempt.

Hello Abg,

Hope you are enjoying your summer vacation. As it is summer vacation I get to sleep little late and wake up little late as well, maybe I will try to get up early and get a glimpse of the comet.
