Throughout time, many people have worked to make new discoverers. We use their findings everyday, without noticing them. I want to take the time in this post, to inform you on all of the incredible things that Greece has influenced on modern day life. (Idea by A.S.M)
Pythagoras: In math class, you learn how to find the hypotenuse of a triangle, however do you know the man behind the name? Born in 570 B.C.E. Samos, he made many incredibly discoverers. In quotes "... Pythagoras was credited with many mathematical and scientific discoveries, including the Pythagorean theorem, Pythagorean tuning, the five regular solids, the Theory of Proportions, the sphericity of the Earth, and the identity of the morning and evening stars as the planet Venus" Amazing!
Euclid: In class, you work on geometry. Maybe you enjoy it, maybe you don't. But have you ever wondered WHO made this? Thank Euclid! He was the father of geometry! Sometimes called Euclid of Alexandria, he made the standard textbook guidelines, worked on perspective, conic sections, and spherical geometry (etc.) He is one of the most influential mathematicians.
Aristotle: Have you heard of Alexander the Great? Well, imagine teaching him. This man, lived that fortune. Aristotle was born in 384 BCE, and was educated at Platonic Academy. He is most noted for shaping medieval scholarship. He changed the way those worked. Aristotle is also known as "the father of logic", "the father of biology" and so much more.
Thank you SO much for reading my post, (Also thank you to my history teacher for teaching me about this subject, and also to A.S.M for shaping the idea.) I hoped you enjoyed!
Stay beyond the Limit!
Hello! I am visiting this site after a while, glad I came back to check this page as we covering Pythagoras in our Math class. I can mention these topics to my friends
I think this post was well thought and well written. Good Job
