I take in a breath of air. I can feel the cool air through my body… My eyes droop. Organism’s years ago, they also used air. But it couldn’t all be gone!

Sometime ago, scientists found ancient air in the cycles of glaciers. In fact, it got frozen into the ice and then got preserved. Throughout Earth’s history, its climate has changed.
*One Of the many discoveries because of the ancient air, is the fact that Earth used to have 10.9 percent of oxygen in the atmosphere! Today, the Earth consists of 21 percent oxygen.
A quote on https://www.sciencedaily.com/ says, “There are a lot of different environmental conditions specific from the past that we can find occurring in modern samples," Benison said. "This tells us about the range of conditions on Earth and also has implications for Mars."
*Research shows that oxygen on Earth increased because of the increased life, and the slowed rotation (which led to an increase in the amount of daylight.) on its axis.
Based on the evidence that I have collected, it was believed that before the dramatic increase in oxygen, bacteria used photosynthesis, and made the air.
Bbc.co.uk states that the loss of carbon dioxide relates to,
· dissolving in the oceans
· use by plants for photosynthesis
· formation of fossil fuels as plants died and their carbon compounds became locked up underground
· formation of sedimentary rocks from the shells of ancient sea creatures
